Happy August!

First of all, congratulations to Brian for getting into the master's accounting program at BYU! Yay Brian!!! AND congratulations to Julianna for getting her new job!! And good luck Jared with starting medical school! And way to go Mom for running 3 miles! And good luck Mary with soccer tryouts! And congratulations to Emma and Kyle with your little baby on the way! I just got going and couldn't stop :) Lot's of exciting things. We love you all.

Today Blake smiled for Rob! It was so funny how it happened. The last few days I have been trying and trying and trying to get Blake to smile at me. Well at dinner today Rob heard me talking to Blake about when he was going to smile for mommy and turned it into a friendly competition to see who could get him to smile first. Not even a minute later Rob was holding him and started tickling his neck and what do you know...he smiled! It was the cutest, biggest smile too! :)

Contrary to what all of these pictures reveal, Blake is awake more these days :)

Blake is so smart. He has figured out that if he puts his fist up to his mouth it helps him hold in his pacifier. I am so happy he has learned this because I don't have to put his pacifier back in his mouth every 10 seconds anymore :)

Blake does so well when it comes to going to sleep. I just lay him in his crib with his pacifier and he will fall asleep (although he is in our bed in this picture). The other day I came in to check on him and he was wide awake just looking around.

He got a hold of his thumb the other day.

Haha- well we were brave and tried taking Blake to the Batman movie last night (thinking he could sleep through most of it).  He did great and slept through about 1/3 of it. After that I stood in the back and bounced him. Rob took this picture of him in the car after the movie.

Rob is on vacation for the next week and a half before fall semester starts! We plan to do some fun things together and will take lots of pictures! We are also counting down the days until family gets here for Rob's white coat ceremony and Blake's baby blessing! We miss family a lot.
