Getting Bigger

Today Blake and I went to the right library and got our library card. We checked out a bunch of Dr. Seuss books for Blake and have had fun reading those today :) I think all the rhyming held Blake's attention because he seemed to like when I read them. Blake is starting to be able to make eye contact with me and will follow things as they move. I was tickling him today and I think he made his first (non-gas bubble) smile at me. I was so happy! When he just stares blankly at me I never know if he is thinking "Wow, who is this crazy person and what did I get myself into?" Just kidding, I hope he doesn't really think that...but still...even the slightest interaction from him makes me happy! :)

Here are a few pictures:

Blake's Hospital Stay

We are home from the hospital! It is such a good feeling. No more pokes, prods and heel pricks. We are so thankful that he is home healthy and happy. We had great doctors that took good care of him...but hope that we don't have to see any of them any time soon. We'll go to our pediatrician in a week for a follow-up appointment just to make sure everything is looking good.
I don't know why but this little hospital gown they gave Blake made me laugh. He looks like how I always pictured the man on the moon...he's just missing the hat. :)

My sweet little boy.

Today we went down river road to a pretty park and took a walk. It felt good to be outside!

We all got hot and Blake enjoyed being in just his diaper.

Here is Daddy leaving for school. Rob had his first test on Friday and, despite the distraction of having our new baby in the hospital, smoked it!!! He got a 98. We love you, Rob!

Our Walk

Blake and I have been trying to go on lots of walks to help him get some sunshine for his jaundice. Today we went on a nice little walk to the lovely dumpster (pee-yew...plug your nose)! It wasn't very sunny but we had fun getting pictures.

Also, I think Blake has a sense of humor ;). For two days in a row it has gone something like this: after giving him a nice warm bath I bundle him up in a towel. I take him over to the bed to put his diaper on. I then attempt to unwrap him from his towel only to find that that grin on his face wasn't from being clean and warm, but from having a nice, big blow-out in his towel. Haha...I guess I'm glad to know he is getting enough to eat! I am also reminded how much I love my new washer and dryer in times like these!

I am so happy it's Friday! Rob got home early today and we are going to have a fun Friday night! We are going to watch a movie and have pizza...then for dessert we are going to treat ourselves to the delectable Twix ice-cream bars my Mom made sure to stock our freezer with before she left.

Home from school!
