Thanksgiving week
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week. We drove up to Kokomo,
Indiana and spent the holiday with Rob’s cousin’s extended family. We arrived
at around noon on Thanksgiving day. We ate a delicious dinner and then watched
America’s Funniest Home videos. There were so many desserts to choose from…it
felt like being at home! Blake did super. When he needed to sleep we put him in
a room in the back where it was quieter. Thursday night Rob, me, and some of
the other married cousins went bowling…and Aunt Becky volunteered to watch Blake.
I felt unprepared because I didn’t even have a bottle for him but there were
lots of other grandbabies and plenty of extra bottles. Anyway, I probably had
the worst bowling game of my life but it was fun! We slept at Grandma Marler’s
house and then left Friday afternoon. The highlight of the trip for Rob was
when he and the guys went out shooting. One of the cousins brought back a dead
squirrel which was cause for a lot of shrieking among the girls when he brought
it into the house! We miss and love our family and are so very thankful for
them and for their love and support. We cannot wait to see you in a few weeks!

We had fun getting some pictures of Blake in his overalls
A picture of Blake's first oatmeal meal! Yum! I even put his A&M bib on.
He is really learning how to use his hands.
Our friends gave us this snow suit for Blake to wear this winter and we will be bringing it with us as Christmas time :)
Hilarious! This is what happens when Rob makes himself a sandwich and doesn't know that there is paper between the cheese slices.
Things have been going well here in Kentucky! Last week we enjoyed some really pretty weather with lots of sunshine. Apparently we even had an earthquake, but nobody felt it. Today is pretty cold, though! These are Blake's 4 month measurements:
Height: 25 inches (60%)
Weight: 14-11 (50 %)
Head: 44.5 cm (92%)
Rob continues to enjoy dental school and works so hard. He is a great husband and dad! I love how Rob is so cheerful. On the days that Rob drives the car in the carpool we sometimes hear the beeps of the car when they get home. I look out the window and Rob is always smiling and having fun. It makes me happy to see him happy. Haha- I made him very happy the other day when I told him that our grocery money with food stamps doesn't come in until the 9th of every month. Well-- the 9th of December is the day that Blake and I are leaving to San Antonio so I wont have time to stock the fridge before we leave. This means that Rob will be buying his own groceries for that week before he join us and boy oh boy is he excited about his "man shopping." Rob was so sweet and informed me that some night this week he was going to watch Blake so that I could go to the Temple.
I have been enjoying doing little things with my sewing machine and I want to make a skirt soon. Also, I didn't use my bread machine very much my first year of marriage, but I am finding that I like it! I really like being able to make dough with it...it's so easy. Last week we made some pizza dough and had calzones (all Rob's idea) for a date night.
