Family Visit, White Coat, and Baby Blessing

Thank you Grandma Foote for getting on to me about posting more pictures! :)

Well, the family visit was AWESOME. We loved having everyone here and having everyone meet Blake. Rob's white coat ceremony was fun and we are happy he is officially a dentist in training now. :) He continues to do well with school and studying and is just enjoying being in dental school. He has wanted this for so long and now the time is finally here!

Blake's baby blessing day was beautiful. He sure looked handsome in Uncle Darin's old baby blessing outfit. Right before Sacrament meeting started I took him out to feed him and he only had one whimper during the blessing, but Rob was quick to put his pacifier in his mouth and he was quiet. The blessing was beautiful. It talked about facing challenges with courage and bravery, being sensitive to promptings of the spirit, being receptive to inspiration, love, to the gospel, and to the Holy Ghost, and learning from the actions of others. The blessing also talked about being pure/whole before God, having a pure and clean heart, and having the power to do that which is right.

On Sunday/Monday we had to say goodbye to Momma and Dad and Grandma Lindeman but it was so nice having them here. I have to thank Momma Lindeman for some of the pictures of Blake. She got some great one's with her camera!

The rest of the visit was full of fun and being together. We went to a couple of parks and had a picnic, fed ducks, and a few of the kids played on a splash pad. Rob also got majorly spoiled and got two frizbees, a football and a volleyball from my parents!... all things we used a lot of during the trip. Oh yes...and for family home evening my parents introduced us to the Cheesecake Factor. I have been craving the caramel apple streusel cheesecake ever since :/...

Well we love everyone! Here are some pictures:

My 22nd Birthday

It has been a wonderful day! This morning I got a haircut and Blake did pretty well :) I fed him and thought he would sleep through the whole thing (a rookie mom mistake- I am learning never to assume this) but he woke up after they washed my hair. For a minute I though I had made a mistake and might just have to come back another time when Rob could watch him for me...but then a lady suggested just nursing him under the hair-cutting cape thing. I asked my stylist if she minded and she didn't at all. (She had just had a baby too so she understood). Besides that it was senior citizens discount day so the place was full of grandma's who were all very supportive :) After that, Blake ate and then fell asleep.

After that some friends put on a little picnic for me at the park. They brought me lunch and then we ate cake. It was really fun, but by the end Blake was ready to go. I cried for a minute walking back to my apartment with a screaming baby...but then I just laughed. We got home and I snuggled with my baby and fed him and then he crashed. I think he is a home-body sometimes. :)

Then we went to visit my friend Alli who just had a baby two weeks before Blake. She is awesome and it's fun to talk to her because we have so much in common right now.

Then Rob got home! As a birthday present from my parents Rob and I enjoyed a delectable dinner from Longhorn Steakhouse. Yum. I had this divine chicken parmesan and then we split a molten lava cake :)

Rob got me an amazing nursing cover (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002LGIH1K/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00) for my birthday. I absolutely love it. I can go anywhere now and feel like I can nurse with it. I don't know how Rob did it, but it was seriously the perfect gift. Thank you, honey!

Ah- well another year come and gone. It has been an amazing, amazing year. I am so blessed. It's funny how even though this birthday was filled with diaper changes and spit up and occasionally feeling tired ...it has been the happiest one yet.

The beginning of a smile :)
